Collaboration is key

Collaboration is key

We and our customers are facing societal challenges that becomes more and more complex and the pace with which we have to deliver becomes faster and faster. The complexity drives the need to collaborate to achieve sustainable solutions for the future. Many different stakeholders and disciplines needs to be included and take part to drive progress.

The Volvo Group collaborates actively with authorities and decision makers globally to secure that relevant research platforms and environments are available where cross-disciplinary research collaborations can take place in areas of common interest. Examples of such platforms are the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020 and the Swedish program for Strategic Vehicle Research & Innovation (FFI) supported by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Transport Administration.

Today our research portfolio where we collaborate with external partners such as academia, institutes, SMEs, suppliers etc contain more than 150 projects. This portfolio is of uttermost importance to drive new innovations in the area of transports.
