IT Delivery Leader

Manufacturing and Logistics Solutions (M&L) is a global unit within Group IT with the responsibility to ensure that all Volvo Group IT solutions and IT projects related to the manufacturing or logistics areas are well managed with a spirit of continuous improvement. We are approximately 1,000 colleagues located in more than 24 sites in 11 countries worldwide.
Solution Center GTO Europe & Brazil Manufacturing (E&BM) and Solution Center GTO Powertrain Production (PTP) are functions within M&L that manage the IT solutions used by GTO E&BM and GTO PTP.
Job Mission
Do you have passion for customer success and want to be part of securing outstanding Process & IT solutions for the end user? As Delivery Leader you will be able to combine your deep interest in technology with a customer and upstream mindset to secure we deliver quality assured solutions for GTO Europe & Brazil Manufacturing and GTO Powertrain Production.
You will be responsible for the solutions' full life-cycles and services in both run-time and one-time; you will also work together with the Delivery Manager to implement both strategic and tactical plans for the solutions within the portfolios as well as planning for the deliveries and maintenance of these solutions.
Within the sub-portfolios we have several large solutions that are often business critical. Lifecycle of these solutions include some intensive period when e.g. upgrades or project cutover are conducted. You will technically lead a team consisting of 11 resources, formed by Business Analysts, Solution Experts and Developers, complemented with resources from our suppliers.
Responsibilities
  • Secure IT efficient one-time and run-time deliveries in line with directives and frameworks for the Europe & Brazil Manufacturing and Powertrain Production portfolios;
  • Build and implement the way of working strategy with the team in order to maximize results for the company;
  • Build open, honest and collaborative mindset with the team, external suppliers and stakeholders;
  • Secure capacity planning, work prioritization and distribution within the team and coordinate team’s activities;
  • Identify competence needs, plan time for training and development for the team;
  • Secure risk and issue management, follow up on results and act on deviations regarding the Delivery Plans;
  • Secure communication impacting IT deliveries with stakeholders, team members and partners in a systematic way;
  • Initiate, drive/support and implement continuous improvement activities aligned with VPS (Volvo Production System);
  • Deliver IT related estimations for one-time activities;
  • Validate production changes;
  • Cooperate with DM to prepare and follow-up IT budget for assigned solutions.
Education, Knowledge and Skills
  • Mandatory previous experience and proven outstanding performance working as an IT technical leader (2-3 years);
  • Software development experience: .Net, Cobol and VSAM files (mainframe);
  • Relevant university degree in the mentioned related areas;
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, both written and spoken;
  • Proven Continuous Improvement experience and results;
  • Experience working in a global environment;
  • Ability to conduct meetings and workshops, very good presentation skills.
