CNC Machinist

Responsibilities – General
  • Perform duties related to safety, quality and productivity for all Internal Supply operations
  • Must be able to demonstrate operational excellence through attitude and actions

Responsibilities – CNC Machine Operator
Plan and perform diversified operations required to set up and operate an assigned number of NC/CNC numerical controlled lathes and/or machining centers (horizontal boring machines) to rough and finish turn bore, face, counterbore chamfer and thread Company product component parts in process of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy metals.
Receive direction from supervisor. Work from detail parts drawings, work orders, setup, tooling, process and operating instruction sheets, and digital program. Use high precision electrical/electronic and conventional measuring instruments. Collaborate in the development of new machine programs, first run trials and make recommendations on operation sequence, speeds, feeds, cycle times and tooling requirements. Edit and input correction to computer control console to revise program and enter applicable data to setup sheets.
Load part, sequence each tool, enter offset adjustment data and continue trials, as required to produce piece meeting drawing specifications. Submit piece for inspection and continue production run after approval. Inspect parts periodically, in accordance with established frequency, for conformance to quality and engineering specifications, making offsets, as required to compensate for tool wear. Indicate work, as required to detect and eliminate run-out.

Skills / Experience Required
  • Know how to use an overhead crane and jib boom hoist.
  • Experience in setup and operation of 3 and 4 axis machine centers.
  • Ability to read blueprints
Level of Education
  • High School diploma is required
