Test Engineer, Product Verification Management

Position Title: Test Engineer, Product Verification Management :
Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America, provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and also support the products in the aftermarket.
Position Description
We are currently looking for a test engineer to work with our Product Verification Management Group. The test engineer should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment; gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering and software. This position will report to the
Product Verification Group Manager.
Position Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, coordinate test request
  • Focused on, but not limited to, performance evaluation of powertrain components within vehicle and in durability test cells
  • Prepare, perform and analyze tests
  • Coordinate and issue test requests and work orders to laboratory
  • Keep test object updated in PROTUS
  • Create, update and follow time plan
  • Deliver correct test results and use correct test measurements
  • Issue Protus fault and engineering reports (ER)
  • Make recommendations to Verification Leader
  • Highlight need for support and resource issues
  • Propose and develop test procedures and other process improvements
  • Testing primarily occurs while in the durability test cell
  • General Working Hours: 1 PM to 9 PM

Qualifications of a successful candidate include
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Engineering/ engine development experience preferred
  • Heavy or medium duty diesel engine development a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Action oriented with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Motivated to solve problems and develop quality solutions in a timely manner
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with global and cross-functional colleagues
  • Innovative mindset with customer focus
  • Authorized to work in the United States required
